Thomas The Model Series Goes International!
"Thomas The Model Series", voted as one of the best fan-series ever, has proved to be very successfull amongst English fans of the original Thomas show. Now, it has been decided to take Thomas and his 00-Gauge friends to the next level. At this moment, I am working hard to bring all eleven current TTMS episodes to German and Polish audiences, with Thomascho58 filling in as the narrator.
Hopefully, "Thomas Die Spiel-Zug" (German) should be steaming in August, and "Tomek" (Polish) premiering in September.

There are also plenty of new TTMS episodes in the pipeline, which will follow some fun new adventures including:
-Peter Sam showing a film director around Sodor's Narrow Gauge railway.
-James having trouble with Bill and Ben at the Quarry.
-Percy having a scary night all alone.
So look out for this, and more, from Maithwaite Railway Media!

Thomas The Model Series - Fun Facts
WARNING: SPOILERS.
The mysteries of behind the scenes on Thomas The Model Series are now ready to be told...
Gary and Steve... Faces?
When I first commenced filming, I was worried it would damage the paintwork. However, when I got the confidence to do Algar's face, I decided maybe Gary and Steve deserved the treatment after all. However, after I made the faces, I thought Gary and Steve were great already. Gary's face is now on Algar, and Steve's is on Frankie.
Deleted Ending: Sherlock Thomas
Ep 7 had a whole different ending when first being pitched
Originally, Thomas had a nightmare that everyone else's brothers started arriving and fighting with each other, and Fatty said something that made Thomas think hard: 'This has got to stop'. The next morning, Thomas had to talk to Steve and find out his side of the story. Thomas then tied them together, and when Gary and Steve hear this, they decide it was equally both their fault. Afterwards, they’re friendship is finally reinstalled.
Narrator?
A narrator was originally going to tell the stories, but after the filming of the first episode, it was found out a narrator was unneccessary. Snip!
Voice Talents?
After complaints that the voices were bad, I decided to let voice talents do voices as well ep 7 onwards. Blue Pioneer was Thomas, Ianfox was James, Harvey27 was Percy, Dan5589 was Algar, DouglasTM was Fatty, and Brock/Locomotive was Gary. That was as far with casting as I ever got. The only role I kept was Tiger Moth. However, the series would probably be 100% different with the new voices...
What shall we call it?
Many names were thought of for the series. Some of them were:

The Layout of Sodor
Eventually, I picked “Thomas & Friends: The Model Series” as it’s official title. However, on July 10th 2006, RayTheTrainEngine, TTMS Co-Director, decided to shorten it to “Thomas The Model Series”. The series, as we all know, still carries this name to this present day.
Deleted Characters
Three characters never saw the screen: Jimmy, Arnold and Harry. These characters appeared in Thomas’ nightmare in the original cut of Ep 7, as James, Algar and Henry’s brothers. They looked alike, except Jimmy was blue, Arnold was green and Harry was red (a reference to the Railway Series story, Henry Sees Red).
Personalities and Nicknames
Frank & Fred were due to have different personalities. Rather than the competitive, gadget-mad twins they are known as now, Frank was going to be a very bold and brave character, while Fred was very sensitive and insecure.
Originally, Steve was going to call Thomas 'Tommy' - but then I read a book about the Railway Series, and learned that the Rev. W. Awdry hated him being called that, so to please him I snipped it.

I actually had difficulty deciding where TFC’s holiday destination in Ep 5 should be...
Should it be Moscow? Paris? New York? Tokyo? Berlin? Antarctica... wait, maybe not...
More about the Episodes
In the earliest version of Ep 1, Percy had faced an accident in the big storm. He was out with an evening train, when some lightning struck a bridge which trapped him! Thomas had to take him to be repaired... and the tall load got stuck in a tunnel, much like in ‘Bulgy’ in TTTE. This caused even more damage to sort out before the railway inspector’s arrival! Episodes back then were originally planned for 5 to 8 minutes each, so I deleted it.
Ep 2, believe it or not, was going to see Frank & Fred’s debut, but Gary took their role instead.
Ep 3 was going to be completely different. Originally, it was about Sir Topham Hatt having a picnic with his family. However, rain spoils their fun. Toby and Percy have a brilliant idea for an indoor picnic in their sheds. It was later changed to introduce Duck to the camera.
Two Un-Birds of a Feather was going to be Ep 6, until Daniel Coffey (a TTMS Writer) suggested some NG action in my series.Ep 9 was going to see more narrow gauge action. “The Fruity Chase” was going to see the adventure of Terence the Tractor trying to catch up with Rheneas, who had left his load for market behind!
So that's what TTMS could have been like!

Thomas The Model Movie
A new poster is ready to be revealed for Thomas The Model Movie, as well as a new release date for the movie: 7th December 2007. Those who are considering entering or already have entered the competition will now see it during the final week of November.

Here is the download link to Episode 11 of Thomas The Model Series, which gives the series a more international appeal, as Thomas is doing a job swap with Ernie from the Fuji Railway in Japan. However, little Percy is worried that Thomas is going away forever!

Model Movie Gets A Makeover
I have decided to re-make 'Thomas The Model Movie', and try to improve it as much as possible. The story plot will remain the same.
Everything on the Island of Sodor, where Thomas and his friends merrily live, work and play, is perfect. That is, until Thomas has a nasty crash into the mountainside, unleashing an evil diesel engine, Diesel 10, who has been trapped in the mountain for years. He is now free to try again to destroy all steam engines, and replace them with up-to-date diesel engines. With all of the engines captured by Diesel 10, Thomas sets out on a mission to find his friends, with the help of an enchanted engine named Lady...
The new version of the film will steam onto screens after Seasons 2 and 3 of Thomas The Model Series, on 1st February 2008 at precisely 6.00pm (British time). Can't wait till then? Well then, notice that even though it seems pretty early, there's going to be a competition where you will be able to watch the film on 21st December 2007, and also be able to have a peek at a storyboard reel! All you have to do is this... Design your own branch line for Sir Topham Hatt's railway. Decide what kind of locations it would pass through, where it would stop at, and what sort of engines would run on it. The first five to come up with imaginative lines will see it before anyone else!
